Custom made Aous Benches
We work with reclaimed weathered timber which has a beautiful grain that is worn from the rain and sun. The Madurese call this quality of wood ‘Aous.’ Because of the inherent movement in the ravines of the wood, the simplest furniture designs are the most harmonious ones and also the best to highlight Nature’s amazing work.

The photos seen here are of custom made benches constructed from three simple boards and assembled using doweled dove tail joints. Made for Jamie Fobert Architects and AVEDA, London.
